Calories in ramen noodles
Saturated, polyunsaturated, monounsaturated fats? |

Are ramen noodles high in calories/fat/carbs? Let's look at the different brands available.
For a 85gr. ramen package:
Top Ramen: 380 calories / 14.2 gr. / 60% of calories are carbs
Maruchan: 380 calories / 14 gr. / 55% of calories are carbs
Mr noodles: 380 calories / 14gr. / 60% of calories are carbs
Cup noodles: 380 calories / 18.3 / 50% of calories are carbs
For 85 grams, 380 calories is similar to other kinds of noodles and pasta. So if you don't eat 2 packages of ramen every day, we can say that eating ramen 2-3 times a week will not be a problem if you are counting the calories.
With 14gr. of fat, on average, in a ramen package, this is approximately 22% of the fat required on a normal 2000 calories diet. So here again, there is no major problem and it's pretty close to pasta like spaghetti.
Now what are carbs and why is it important to talk about them. Carbs are Carbohydrates, you probably heard this word when people talk about the diet bodybuilders should have. Carbs gives energy to the body and are usualy found in bread, pasta, potatoes, beans cereals and rice. The World Heart Organization recommand that fat found in food should come from 55% to 75% from carbs. So we can say that ramen noodles are pretty good for carbs.
In conclusion, as long as you don't eat 5 packages of noodles every day, we can say with confidence that ramen noodles can be part of an healthy diet.
