  Sapporo ramen

               Birthplace of the Miso Ramen
Sapporo is the Japanese city with the 5th largest population and is the capital of the Hokkaido Prefecture (Northern part of Japan). It is known for hosting the 1972 winter olympics but also for it's delicious ramen recipes! It's the birthplace of the miso ramen, made with a lot of miso and chicken/fish broth. The miso ramen is more recent than many other recipes, but managed to become very popular in Japan.


The Miso ramen of Sapporo is most of the time topped with chopped pork, bean sprouts, sweetcorn but also with seafood that is available locally and used in many different dishes of the region. Sapporo is also known for having many ramen restaurants that serves the popular Miso soup recipe and all kind of different japanese dishes.
