Made with fermented soy beans, this is a very popular condiment all around the world. It is said to have been invented in China around three thousand years ago. Today it is used a lot in asian cuisine and is used for many popular ramen recipes. It is easy to see when soy sauce has been added by the brownish color it gives to the dishes.

There are many variations of the popular sauce like the koikuchi, the usukuchi, the shiro and the popular tamari. The tamari known as the original sauce soy as it is very close to the taste of the first ones used.

One of the four most popular types of ramen dishes in Japan is the Shoyu Soup and it uses a lot of soy sauce. The other three popular types all features a very important ingredient like the miso for the Miso Soup.
