Seafood have always been part of authentic ramen meals. Since Japan have an easy access to the sea and the population eats a lot of fish, seafood became an important ingredient of ramen soups. Almost all kind of fish can be used, but we often see shrimps, scallops and lobster. Fish can also be used to make the soup broth, a popular Dashi uses Niboshi (dried sardines).

There are so many delicious ingredients that come from the sea, that ramen noodles can be mixed with many kinds of seafood. But let's not forget also the seaweeds that can add color and flavor to almost any ramen dish.
The soup base with shrimp flavor is very popular and available from many of the largest brands. It often come quite spicy and with some dried seaweeds to cook with your noodles. There are a lot vegetable to add with this that could be mixed to perfection like scallions, green peppers or shiitake mushrooms.
